Given that these articles are supposed to be written from the point of view of a historian in the 27th century, it seems strange that the Background section is so obviously written from an American point of view of the 21st century. With so much that could be written about Earth from a real-world perspective, I propose that the Background section should be removed, or at the very least severely minimised. Possibly, yeah. I wrote that background, and will consider revising it.
