A dreadnought was a type of heavy warship that served as a battleship or carrier during the Terran-Kilrathi War. The Terran Confederation fielded at least one type of dreadnought during the war which was the Confederation-class dreadnought. The most famous ship of that class was the TCS Concordia (CVS-65). The Kilrathi had several types of dreadnoughts during the war the latest of which was the Hvar'kann-class dreadnought. The Nephilim fielded the Tiamat-class dreadnought during the Nephilim War of 2681.
Behind the scenes
Historically a Dreadnought was a type of battleship with heavy armour and armaments. The name comes from the first ever dreadnought named HMS Dreadnought which was launched in 1906. The dreadnought type-vessel was superseded by new Battleship and Battlecruiser designs after world war 1.
