The Image Recognition Missile was a projectile weapon used by the Terran Confederation and Kilrathi fleets.
The missile locked on a visual source, allowing it to track a single ship without risk of hitting anything else. Locking took several seconds.
The Spiculum IR was a Terran Confederation version of the missile. The Claw was a Kilrathi Empire version of the missile
