What this card does is something like luring the enemy away from the initial area of engagement. We do it in Wing Commander all the time without thinking about it. But this card also has the effect of permanently zapping an enemy obstacle of capships. Even if it's not a problem, this card would be useful for taking out a Dreadnought or Cruiser. Remember it has a relatively high Card Rating though, so only the more agile fighters can use it.
