The TCS Intrepid was a Southampton-class Destroyer serving with the Terran Confederation. It fought in the Battle of Kilrah.

Service

Little is known of the Intrepid's service prior to 2667, but it likely escorted carrier vessels and participated in assaults on various Kilrathi territories in the Terran-Kilrathi War. In 2668, the Intrepid, along with the TCS Kagimasha, were selected to escort the TCS Tarawa as part of Operation Back Lash as Strike Force Valkyrie. The mission was to penetrate to the Kilrathi homeworld and cause as much damage as possible. At that time, it was commanded by Captain Grierson.

Battle of Kilrah

In 2668, the Intrepid hypered into the Kilrah System along with its task force, codenamed Strike Force Valkyrie. The Intrepid defended the Tarawa while the latter deployed a full battalion of marines to destroy the Kilrathi facilities on the moon of Largkza. The attack resulted in the destruction of numerous bases, starships, and overwhelming Kilrathi casualties. The fleet then fled to the moon Igrathi to hide while they conducted repairs.

The Intrepid continued to defend the Tarawa after the Kagimasha was destroyed in a kamikaze attack. It also kept the Tarawa briefed on battlefield intelligence due to numerous equipment failures on the latter ship. After the Tarawa launched a failed nuclear strike on Kilrah, the Intrepid fled to the Baragh System alongside the crippled Tarawa.

Destruction at Baragh

The two surviving Terran vessels managed to flee Kilrah, but were mercilessly pursued by three Kilrathi carriers. Desperate to defend the Tarawa, the Intrepid faced off an incoming Kilrathi cruiser. Both vessels launched a full volley of missiles at each other, destroying both vessels with all hands onboard. The Intrepid's heroic act of self-sacrifice kept the Tarawa alive long enough for it to be rescued by the TCS Concordia.
