Freya is a star system in the Vega Sector. It hosts at least two major planets and as of 2669, was under Kilrathi control.

Freya was a strategically vital system due to a jump point that led straight to Kilrah, the Kilrathi homeworld. In order to ensure the secrecy of this jump point, Kilrathi defenses were built up to their maximum, and a shield generator was constructed on Freya II to block the jump point.

In 2669, the Terran Confederation planned to destroy Kilrah by means of the Temblor Bomb, and needed Freya to act as a staging ground for the fleet. This fleet would divert the Kilrathi fleet so that their strike team could destroy Kilrah. The TCS Victory led this offensive.

While here, the Terrans tested the Temblor Bomb in the Hyperion System, and the test proved successful. The Terrans managed to smash through the Freyan defensive lines and destroy the shield generator on Freya II. The Terran fleet then occupied the system and deployed Colonel Christopher Blair to lead the strike on Kilrah.
