Joshua Bondarevsky, Jason's brother, was a Confederation Marine who died in the defence of Khosan in 2661. The letter that his family received declared that his death was heroic, quick and relatively painless, cut down by a neutron gun blast. In reality, he may have been among those who were captured alive by the Kilrathi only to suffer and die at their hands. Joshua had expressed an attraction to Svetlana Ivanova, but his advances had been turned down.
