The Nephilim are an insectoid race from the core of the known galaxy.
The emergence of the Nephilim was prophesied for millenia by the Kilrathi in the ancient prophecy known as Kn'thrak, which foretold the dawning of an era of "great darkness", when a race "with the heart of the Kilrathi, but not Kilrathi-born" would come forth to destroy all who reside within the known galaxy. This prophecy was one of the primary drives for the Kilrathi's deeply-rooted warrior culture, as they constantly fought to ensure their readiness when their prophesied enemy would arrive.
