Pembroke Station plays an especially vital role of the defense of the [[Enigma Sector|Enigma]] and [[Vega Sector]]s. Within Pembroke is a jump nexus that connects the two sectors together. Whoever controls this nexus will have virtually uncontested access to both sectors, making in a primary target of the [[Kilrathi Empire]] during the [[Terran-Kilrathi War]]. Pembroke Station is assigned to the defense of this nexus.

The ''[[TCS Concordia]]'' was assigned to ensure the survival of Pembroke Station. The station was almost destroyed when the Kilrathi launched a massive strike force against the installation.
