Jotunheim is the codename for a star system in the Epsilon Sector. It is a territory of the Kilrathi Empire.

Jotunheim is located beyond the Terran Confederation frontier deep within Kilrathi airspace, and played only a minor role in the Terran-Kilrathi War.

In 2654, the Terran colony of Goddard was eradicated by the Kilrathi Empire through the use of a massive fleet armed with the new Graviton Gun. In response to this attack, the Terran Confederation dispatched the TCS Tiger's Claw on a mission to track down and destroy this fleet and its new weapon, initiating Operation: Thor's Hammer. The Claw ventured deep into Kilrathi space to find this force, entering the Jotunheim System in an attempt to locate the fleet as it resupplied.

Jotunheim is most notable for being the site where the TCS Johann, a Confederation Exeter-class Destroyer, sent a distress call to the Claw after having wandered into Kilrathi airspace and subsequently ambushed. The Claw responded by sending Christopher Blair and Mariko Tanaka to save the vessel. In reality, the Johann was the infamous TCS Gwenhyvar, a Terran vessel rumored to have been seized by the Kilrathi several years before in order to lure in unsuspecting Terran ships. Despite having to face resistance from Kilrathi-operated F-44 Rapier IIs, the two pilots destroyed the Gwenhyvar, ending the vessel's reign of terror and allowing the Claw to continue its mission.
