XMI and MIDIs

I've been trading email with Russell Shaw, who use to work for Bullfrog/EA doing music for such classics as Syndicate and Dungeon Keeper. We've been talking about his work on Black & White when he mentioned Syndicate. I had been hoping for him to be able to provide me with some information on the music to it...

Some MIDIs can be decompiled into a sheet music program like "Voyetra Music Write Plus" or MIDI Notate. He said this may be trouble for the .XMI MIDIs in Syndicate because they're a "custom midi using a Miles Design specification".

Anyone have any ideas how to decompile them?

Use PP's MIDI plug-in in Winamp, save to MID, and decompile from that. Winamp has no trouble playing the XMI as it is, anyway.
