WTF is that?

I found that picture on the WC Revival site. There, it says it's a transport from WC Armada. But I cannot remeber seeing it in Armada(though it's very long since I actually played that game). Is there any additional information available, or is the model somewhere up for download? I'd like to examine it from upclose if possible.

Each side in Armada had a transport, which only showed up in the Campaign/Armada modes... the only appear in combat if you have one (and no carrier) with you at a nav point were a fighter battle is initiated.

They weren't armed, and they blew up really easily. If you took out their fighter escorts, they'd be "captured" and magically turn into the opposing side's transport.

You even knew the Blair in court image, which is cool. Hey, do you consider demos and previews part of the storyline? The WC2 one is kind of cool. But would it be a different take on the same dialogue or another, similar dialogue?

I generally do - if you can put up with novels vs. games and get information from both you can add in the occasional demo. Most of the demos are just a fun extra mission, anyway.

(And yeah, the WC2 demo adds a lot, IMO - worth it just for the weird Bloodfang and the Kilrathi armored suits.)

I played some armada back in the day, but I didn't remember this ugly beast. Nice... I always pictured the transports as being like the WC3 ones.

I like WCP's demo too, it has an extra system

as for the blair in court image, it is on the back of my wing commander 2 deluxe CD packaging... where can i find the animation?

also, i need to download the original sm1/2 disks, i have bought them together with "mile high club"edition, and the manual sais i have the SM, can't find them though...

I too purchased the mile high club set as it promised the secret missions for 1 along with academy. I got it home and lo, no secret missions at all. Then, as if by chance I was trawling a car boot sale in wales (strange place I realise) and came accross a guy with 1 and 2 in original packaging. He also said he had the secret missions for 1 which I could purchase off him.

Now though, seeing as I play KS I just downloaded them off the net but I do have the original SM1 and 2 in original boxes. SM1 is even on 5 1/4 disks, old school.

But yes mate, mile high club let us down. Teh only upside was that it had all the access codes.

Same here. but it's true what they say, better late than never. I'm having a blast playing through them right now...again.

I'm also curious about this " Blair in Court " animation.

nice, as soon as my copy of WC1 comes, I'll have the entire series of comp games. now I just gotta get the novel and Im set. I already got most of the strategy guides and dont want any of the other console versions cause I dont have SNES or Sega or even Gameboy Advance.

You can buy a whole game system plus game these days for less than you'd have paid for the game when it originally came out - a 3DO and a copy of the 3DO WC3 port is probably a lot more fun than whatever the kids today play (Half Life 2).
