Two Weeks To Party Time! (July 31, 2016)

We're now less than two weeks away from the CIC's 18th Birthday, so the countdown is really starting to heat up! My fellow CIC staffers are hard at work on new features that I'm getting anxious to see myself. Our official birthday is the evening of August 10, but this year we'll be celebrating on the following Saturday, August 13. Everything gets going at 7:00 pm EDT (4:00 pm PDT and 11:00 pm GMT) in #Wingnut on irc.wcnews.com or our easy web chat interface. As usual, we'll have trivia contests, lots of site updates and tons of fun with our fellow Wingnuts. See you there!

You know what that means...

Voting, smoking, Selective Service. Time to put on the big boy boots.

In three more years the CIC can buy the booze. :D

Come to think of it, I still haven't gotten my trivia loot from last year.

Don't worry, Whistler - I haven't gotten my trivia loot for the last three years running. If the trend continues, they'll eventually have to deliver it all in a good-sized U-Haul...

Yikes, three years? I'm definitely delinquent on items to a few people, but that's surprising. After this year's party, send me a note and we can reconcile where we should be at.

Recalling last year's party, I believe me and Capi did some hunting for terran equivalent WC drinks. Can't find my old post just now so I'll just reshare this old link:

I'm pretty sure that's the list we found. I might take a look through last year's transcript just to be sure.

Hey, wow! That reminds me. A couple of years ago (possibly three), I won a copy of the WC Movie DVD. Stupidly, while I figured that I don't need it (I already had the DVD), I never bothered to contact you to let you know that the DVD can be given to someone else. So, if you keep any notes about prizes needing to be sent out, and you've got me listed as waiting for a DVD, please disregard :).

On a sidenote - I haven't attended the last couple of years, but this year I just might show up, or at least, sort of show up. 9 AM is a reasonable time to be in front of the computer, but it's also the time of day when I should actually be working ;).

Will do, each year we have a few people not claim things, and we generally just end up recycling the prizes in those cases.

Yeah, that's why we moved the parties to Saturday night/Sunday morning!

Oh... heh. I didn't notice that. That actually complicates things for me, as Sunday morning I'll probably only have enough time to drop in and say "hi" before going off to church. Oh, well - I'm sure it works out better for most people, in any case!
