Super Wing Commander

Hi,

As well as posting this message here, I've posted it to usenet, so don't bother reading any further if you've already seen it. ;)

I have been searching for the demo of Super Wing Commander for the Macintosh. Unfortunately, the only link I have found to it has been on wcnews.com, and that link has been dead. :(

Can anyone point me to a working download? Does someone with the file on their Mac want to fill the gap? ;)

Thanks,
Huz.

SWC is also on the 3DO, but that machine is "dead" (don't know why, it's realy faster then a playstation). but if you have a pc with wc1 and both add-ons, you miss nothing exept the movies with speech (including the conversations, medal awards etc). the add-ons are intergrated into the game, and take place in the middle. the craft that fly around are looking way diffirent then the ones (The Raptor looks exactly like the Gladius in P1). But maybe someone can help me 2, i'm searching for the add-ons for WC1. The Net is full of add-ons for The Kilrathi Saga, but not for the original game. pls mail any info to bas_schut@hotmail.com

You've got some things incorrect here. No versions of Super Wing Commander have speech in the movies, that's Sega CD Wing Commander 1. And you *are* missing something if you have the PC WC1 with both addons. Supe Wing Commander does not have Secret Missions 2, and instead has a third addon which takes place between SM1 and SM2. Also, there are more setup commentary that support things such as Stealth Fighters in WC2.

I responded to this post on AGWC as well. The file is corrupt. I talked to Kris and he's trying to find a working copy.

I know he doesn't have one, but I'd rather have him looking for one than me doing it. :)

yah. I have the MAC version of SWC, and it has speech. And your "3rd" addon is the Goddard one, which is not 3rd. In Wing Commander 2 the story is loosely based on Goddard and the Sivar ship

Hmm. I'm not sure I understand your post, so for clarification, I'll reiterate the SWC addons are about Goddard and the Sivar, then about destroying the shipyards that made the Sivar. I'm not sure what "Wing Commander 2" you're talking about here.

Hmm... I'll assume he's talking about the Super Nintendo WC2 "Wing Commander 2: The Secret Missions".

Although some promotional material indicated so, I'm pretty sure the actual game SM1 for SNES didn't have any trace of "WC2" on it.

Just for the record, Chris is right, the cartridge did not use the name Wing Commander 2: SM. Just WC: SM
