SOLAR WARDEN on Kickstarter

Greetings Wing Commanders,

we've just gone live on Kickstarter! We are a Space Shooter / Real-Time Strategy hybrid indie title from the developers of MechWarrior: Living Legends. Join us!

The Game is inspired by titles like Freelancer, Descent, XCOM and Homeworld, and aims to combine the spirit of these games with modern technology in a unique fusion of genres.

Previous Accomplishments of the Solar Warden development team include the Award-Winning Mechwarrior: Living Legends, as well as a combined of 20 years of games industry experience.

The developers are also talking to the community on real time on their Discord, and are happy to answer any questions you have!

Thank you and we will see you on Kickstarter warden!

Hi, great looking game and I've been looking high and low for playable co-op space combat games.. so.. will there also be a cockpit, or cockpit-esque/hud view?

Hello Mace,

thanks for the interest. It isn't part of the core product BUT I started my pc gaming career with Wing Commander back in 1990. So believe me if I tell you it is one of the first things we would want to expand the game into.

Looks rather cool but as long as a DRM-free release (such as GoG) is not guaranteed, I cannot support this project. Steam and the online-DRM systems it represents are simply a no-go. I want to own my games, purchasing something is a purchase and not a rent.

On Saturday, April 28th, @ 12pm Pacific (3pm Eastern / 7pm GMT), join us for a Developer Live Stream on Twitch and our Youtube channel!
We will be demonstrating some behind the scenes development and gameplay while answering YOUR questions!

In this Development Live Stream, we will be focusing on boss character - The Silicoid Worm! A most devastating creature who is massive in size and strength. Capable of devouring most vessels in a single attack. However, not only is the Worm able to grab and munch its prey, but also has evolved the ability to violently shoot the crystalline spikes from its spine and actually home in on its target. Come join us on April 28th as we talk about how we developed this boss from concept to his current stage, with additional work being introduced LIVE such as the sounds and counter measures against it!

We see you there warden!

DRM-free versions will be available from day one.
Can you point me to a sentence or statement on your kickstarter (or an update) that states this? If yes, I shall support you :)

Do not get me wrong but I cannot even verify that you are behind the Kickstarter and a statement on a WC News forum is certainly not a binding agreement. On Kickstarter itself, it is a different topic.

On the first of May 2018 our leading Developer Dan "Kamikaze" Adams was on a podcast with Space Game Junkie. They talked in-depth about what Solar Warden is going to be all about. About 2 hours of solid information to be found here!

Check it out!

P.S. Vidmaster, I'll see to us putting something official on the Kickstarter page
