The CIC Chatzone will be briefly taken offline tonight. We're going to perform some routine maintenance. This should not take more than a few hours, if that.
 
Permanent as opposed to what? The moon? Compared to the moon, the CZ is not permament.

Hmmm, looking at my new profile, I seem to have lost about 40 posts on the counter. How did that happen?
 
Some threads have been deleted in the past. On the old board, this didn't have any effect on your postcount. Now it does, because this board runs on a database instead.
 
We're still fiddling with the look a bit -- but we thought it best to get the board back up as quickly as possible... just don't be surprised if some graphics and colors change over the next few days.

The board is actually now a SQL based vBoard instead of a CGI based UBB -- you should find that it's much quicker, and it allows for a lot more customizability. And it's even registered all legal-like. Go, us!
 
Yeah, the bright/dark clash isn't so bad now.

And what sort of threads were deleted, I've only been here for a few months.

And I didn't notice that you show the last poster for each thread until just then. Yucch, it's got my name plastered all over... hmmm, does that say something about the amount of yakking, er typing I do here?
 
I'm talking about threads that have been deleted since we started from scratch in January of this year.
 
As for the quote problem, the board didn't import the old quotes correctly. We'll be trying to fix this in the coming days, but it's not that much of a problem because quoting works just fine, just not in the old posts.

Wow, yeah. I'll yell at Kris if he is around, otherwise it'll have to wait until I get home from work.

Daily weirdness part two:

The board announcements (linked at the bottom of each forum index) appear to have been posted by someone who registered in 1970, and the announcements won't expire until the year 2025. However when we get to the year 2025, everyone will be away playing Ultima Worlds Online : Origin 6. Or is that Ultima Online 7? Or Multima 7 even? Anyway, since everyone will be away playing whatever it is, no one will notice the announcements disappear.
