Proof Shotglass lives...

If the blip is red in the radar, its gonna get targeted and fired upon! Be it Kilrathi, Lance, BW or whoever. In the WCP sim going thru some of those sim missions, I actually started feeling bad wiping out all those cats. Maybe its cause the war is over and felt kinda bad, even tho it was a sim, even tho its all a game. But those Lance bozos calling me inferior meant they could taste my inferior guns up their six!

I Torp one of those BW Cruisers since there were too many Banshees for me in that mission many times, but eventually I find the way to finish it with doing that....
I belive that Black Lance flying style is the tauth :).

Hmm, I actually prefer to kill the fighters than blow up the cruiser in Masa. I suppose that's the only consideration I have 'reality'-wise. Anyone prefer the cruiser?
 
Blowing up cruisers is fun. In some games it's smarter to take out the cruisers. Alliance, for example. Star Destroyer jumps in, launches TIEs. In some instances, though, they only threaten the fighters. What do you do? If you have the fighter power, shrug the TIEs off and slag the carrier before it can launch more. If they have smaller escort ships, like a couple of Lancer Frigates, take those out, then go for the biggun.

Of course, seldom do they have no target other than the fighters. But you have to play it by ear, as always.
 
I was referring to the fact that some people don't like killing Border Worlders. Killing the cruiser will kill more people.

I try to avoid torping the cruisers whenever I can, but it it is very, very difficult to win that mission by killing the Banshees on the crazy or nightmare level. That, of course, just makes doing it all the sweeter.

PS: What flying style? If the Black Lance pilots we see in WC4 are the best humanity can do, the human race is deep in the brown stuff. :)

I definitely avoid blowing up the cruiser if I can. I also avoid killing the Confed capships in the "outrun Ella" mission, as you can autopilot without killing them.

Hmm, I suppose I should too, but I like killing the capships, 'cause they're still designated as unfriendlies. The Border World cruisers ceased fire once their escort was neutralised.

First, there's the obvious quip that it is difficult to write decent AI routines.

Secondly, the BL were hardly the best. They just thought they were. :)
 
Yep. Given that they got their butts so soundly kicked by the Border Worlders (second rate opposition at best), it's a bit much to claim the Black Lance were humanity's best hope against any future alien threats. :)
