Hi all,

Just downloaded v1.0 and trying to install. I get the message that the install program is too big to fit into memory.

I've looked in the manual and all it says is to simply run the installer, so no help there. Searched the forums and didn't find anything, although I may have missed something (wouldn't be the first time).

Can anyone offer any advice? TIA.

Steve.

FYI:
Win XP with SP2.
512MB RAM (plenty free).
More than enough HD space.

Doesn't seem anyone can help as yet.

Is there (somwhere?) an MD5 digest for the Windows installer so I can at least confirm the download is good?

Try installing BitTorrent client, then click the torrent-link in http://www.filerush.com/download.php?target=privateer1.0.exe and select it to "overwrite" privateer1.0.exe (well better take backup of it first:-) you have already downloaded.

At least it fixed my corrupted installer which I downloaded earlier using GetRight by re-downloading only those corrupted parts of the file and saved me from downloading whole 180meg chunk again (56k dial-up, see).

I suppose that the installer is OK when it passes the verify phase without errors.

Thanks Acimus for the sugestion, I'll give it a shot. I understand totally, I'm on a 56k connection too.

OK fixed it, corrupt download. Not the sort of error I would have expected though, but there you go.

Would it possible for the powers that be to put some kind of checksum on the downloads page? Being on a dial-up connection it would have made life a lot simpler to find the problem. I'm sure I'm not the only one on a slow connection either, and considering the download size I'm surprised that it's not there already.
