Plot bug problem!

I completed the Monkhouse quest and he told me he was 'updateing' my map.. but no update occured..
(or rather, the only thing that did happen is the word 'Gemini appeared in my sector list, it's the only one in the list though)
and Monkhouse is gone.. and I have NO clue as to how to join the exploratory services.. I checked a walkthrough for the original, it said Rygannon, but there is no Rygannon on my nav computer and I'm not seeing any quests that take me there

help!

how do I fix this? do I just need to add a line to my save file ?
 
Rygannon's not in your computer? Have you tried purchasing sector maps? It should be listed on those. Rygannon is two systems "north" of Palan. Take Palan to Xytani, and Xytani to Rygannon. Dock at the asteroid base, and talk to the person in the bar.
 
sector maps? purchase? I've not seen that option available anywhere...

Enter the software booth from the Upgrades room in the Ship Dealer. If you can't find it, right click to snap the mouse pointer to all available hotpoints.
