Hello!

I was playing the game and all of a sudden, the ship started moving in some odd direction. I had to use the Afterburner to move forward at all; the auto-pilot "movies" showed little blue things going out from my ship -in another direction than the one it was facing-! I tried landing on a base and going into the air again but it didn't do any good. :/

I dont' have a US keyboard, which means I had to go into the vegastrike.config file and change some of the bindings. There was a Shi-something that supposedly let me turn and continue moving in the same direction. I tried setting that key to something else but it made no difference.

Additionally I came up at speeds of 800 where the max speed used to be 600 using the afterburner.

NO clue what was going on but it was unplayable. :|

Thanks!

Sounds like you hit the ( ` ). pressing it again should switch you back.

If you went into the config file and changed it, you'll have to restart the game for that change to apply. Then of course, the key you changed it to will toggle that behaviour.

Thanks for the (ultra-)quick responses!

Since I'm on an intl keyboard, the ` key is unavailable to me. I went into the vegastrike.config file and changed it from ' (not `) to alt+s.

I did try hitting ' repeatedly, which did nothing. :|

Will let ya know how that goes. Thanks again.

Actually sounds like an old and not completely fixed bug in the engine itself.
Sometimes when two ships collide at high speeds, and thier shields manage to absorb the hit the two ships will be flung apart at REALLY high speeds.
