Wow, that's got to be a bit of a boost to the project. This keeps up and you won't be able to keep up with the demands of the fans. ;)

actually i've seen Privateer Remake beening posted on multiple sites around the world. Just google for it and you will be greatly surprised. This game is getting alot attention. This means, that version 2.0 should be as good as possible ;) High quality backgrounds, rewritten voices and enchanced models of ships and textures ;)

There were literally dozens of moderate size sites that reported on the remake in the hours after the slashdotting. It's probably not necessary to highlight each of them with a post here.

Hey, you know, you could let them have their moment in the sun. These people are proud of their work, and rightly so- it is excellent in many ways.

How many fan-type projects (of the huge numbers of them out there) receive this much attention in their whole cycle?

Besides, is there really that much of an issue with space on the servers these forums live on?

I guess there are points on both sides. One point: if we were to list all of the sites that have become excited about the remake, we would be listing a lot of sites, and it would get a bit redundant. On the other hand, it is good news that a Wing Commander fan project is getting so much hype and such a good reception from so many different groups around the world. For all of us who want more WC, the message this sends is good news indeed (does EA know about this? I hope they're watching).

I think it's perfectly fine to give credit where credit is due (great job, Mamiya Otaru and associates), and to aknowledge that the team has done a very good service for Wing Commander, for the CIC (lots of positive publicity), and for sci-fi gaming in general. So, I don't think we need to list out all of the sites (telling people to Google the remake and see what comes up would be a fair alternative), but I think it's only fair to give a public announcement here about how well-received the Privateer Remake has been on a global scale.
