I have to complain about flight physics

Spaceman
I can't shoot down a single Talon with my Meson-armed Tarsus. I know this game is much more difficult, that Privateer, but it would be nice if my ship didn't slide this much when not using afterburnres. I mean it's not very convincing, that a large freighter ship strafes and slides after turning with only 300kps... and the mouse cursor is pretty messy...

Could you please make it different that the actual targeting reticule? It's very confusing when fighting. And most of all it shouldn't hide behind the cockpit when I move it to the edge of the screen. People using mouse for play (which I use after WC Prohpecy) will often lose the cursor in the middle of battle.

Also, the arrow at the target when it's not in the screen should be thicker. It's a very useful tool, but not when the cockpit is turned on, and players don't have red&blue color radars.

Also, what should I do not to hear and target ships that are more than 15000 klicks away?

Newton, ellmo. ellmo, Newton :) Said large freighter has more momentum. You can change it by giving it ridiculous amounts of thrust if you like (or reducing its mass). Poke around units.csv. Kep in mind that reducing their momentum means making them more maneuverable. It all depends on what sort of "realism" one is aiming for.

Was fixed post 1.0 pre5

ditto (both already fixed) Good requests though. They obviously needed to be changed.

There are a couple variables you can edit in the config file, one for max targetting distance and another for sound propagation. The one that controls how fas sound fades is "volume" (IIRC) and max distance, dunno. Search for targetting or so. I'll get back to you.

I'd rather like the more arcade style of gameplay. Perhaps I'll do better hunting Talons, when their gunning skill isn't as good as it is now.

Well, I'm using the last patch, major. And they're both green, and look the same. something I missed?

Same as before...

Okay, I'll try to find these, but anyway, I think you should reduce both of those values for default.

I don't mean to be picky Mamiya, but if you're sticking with Newton, then I must say, that sound basically does not exist in space. Oh well, just make it fade quicker... ^_^

The latest patch is 1.0 pre5. Like I said, it was fixed post 1.0 pre5. In other words there has been no release with those fixes yet, but they are there.

Of course it doesn't. The going story is that your computer senses shots and explosions and ships flying by and synthesizes sound for you. Since you can't see in all directions at once, getting another sense involved is a good thing.
