A New Poll, Finally (January 1, 2009)

Our old one was up a little longer than we'd normally prefer, but it's a new year and time for our traditional January 1 poll. What kind of year will 2009 be for Wing Commander? We'd like to hear your thoughts. With so many of the projects nominated above poised for big things, I can't wait to see how the next twelve months unfold. Hit the voting button to update the tally or the discuss link to comment. We'll be taking suggestions for new poll ideas in 2009 so these get rotated out more frequently.

Our last tally looked at how long fans have been visiting the site. Nearly a quarter have been here since the CIC opened and more than a third have been checking us our since the '90s. That's some crazy loyalty on your part! Thanks to all our long-time visitors, and welcome to all those who are just getting acquainted here. New members are welcome to head over to the Forums or #Wingnut and join in the conversation!

Interesting - I seem to have found the CIC at a time when few others did... (2006).

I wonder why turnout is low for that year.

I think the numbers are roughly 6% per year for the last few years, but the wording of the poll options skews the top choice. "Year or less" includes 2007 and 2008, so the numbers get doubled up. The yeah 2003 is probably slightly higher due to it being a round year ("five years"). In the future if we break up "one year" and "or less" into two options, the last eight years or so are probably pretty consistent.

In regards to fan games I think it will be GREAT! And whatever you release from the mystic project will be great too.

From EA though... I regrettably don't have any high expectations.
