High resolution patch for WC3/4 is possible in theory, 16:9 would require remaking game assets and massive hacks. Unless you completely remake the game.

Yes for the resolution, no for 16:9 support. You will have a correct viewing ratio but with black bars on the sides.

What do you mean ? You can already run Standoff and WCP/SO in pretty much any resolution your monitor can support in OpenGL mode. What more do you have in mind ?
